The Year in Review?

It's been 9 days since the New Year and approximately 5 months since I have moved back to the San Fernando Valley. I think this calls for an entry with all of my favorite places and pictures. Here are some of the adventures I've been on so far. More pictures, recollections and notes about 2009 to follow.

A few days after I moved back, the valley looked like it was undergoing nuclear testing or something. Unfortunately, it was just a forest fire somewhere in the hills.

One of my favorite things about moving back to Los Angeles is the many food options. The most important culinary development in 2009 for me was that Bibimbap became my favorite dish. $9.95 bought me pure happiness from the Korean market on Devonshire and Reseda.

These two photos come from one of my favorite nights before the New Year. There have been many, but this one stands out because I got to see Nick Steinhardt's 2 person experimental music band play in Silverlake. The name of the cafe escapes me right now, but it was remarkable because of the amazing selection of vegetarian and vegan food. Experimental music + spinach tortilla hummus wrap = major win. Later on we had drinks at a very loud, and very red bar somewhere down the street. The name of that place also escapes me. Please fill me in if anyone else remembers the names.

Beautiful girl, beautiful pose. I am a sucker for red ambient lighting, so here's my other favorite from the night.

With that, I want 2009 to rest in peace. 2010 will be all about adventures/dives/vegetarian cafes and music. More to come.

good bye 09
